Earthquake Preparedness Guide

      

You should have the following supplies on hand:
 

  • Wrench to shut of gas, if you do not have an automatic shut off device, also one to turn off water supplies.

  • Fire extinguisher

  • Complete first aid kit, including handbook.

  • Adequate supply of medications for family
    members taking them.

  • Food for infants, such as formula, and
    diapers, bottles, pacifiers, powdered milk,
    and medications.

  • Flashlights with extra batteries.

  • Candles or kerosene lamps.

  • Emergency radio (battery or hand crank).

  • Water for each family member for at least
    three to five days, (one gallon per person
    per day).

  • Canned and packaged foods, enough for
    three to five days.

  • Mechanical can opener.

  • Don't forget pet food, if you have them.

  • Camp stove or barbecue to cook on
    "outdoors".

  • Porta potties or a 5 gallon bucket, toilet
    seat, plastic bag liners, and bluing
    solution. (Don't forget the paper)

  • Matches in a waterproof container.

  • Soap, toothpaste/brush, contact lens
    solution, extra pair of glasses (even old
    ones will help).

  • Extra set of car keys hand house keys.

  • Cash ($1.00 bills - fifty per person) It will
    be cash and carry times, no change
    given.
