The Land Of Earthquakes

There have been 16 major earthquakes in California since 1950; the last one was in San Simeon on December 22, 2004 with a magnitude 6.5. Earthquakes occur frequently on the west coast but the most violent ones have occurred in the central United States. All of the 50 states are vulnerable to earthquakes of moderate to high risk.

Earthquakes may be unavoidable, but the damages and loss of life are not.

Earthquakes frequently cause gas lines to your home or business to rupture, causing natural gas leaks. This could potentially create a fire or even an explosion.

Pacific Seismic Products, Inc has been developing the most innovative earthquake actuated gas shut-off valves since 1978, the longest in the industry. Our California Seismic Valve automatically turns off the gas for you when an earthquake reaches a force capable of damaging gas lines. Our proven valves, unlike other earthquake valves, do NOT re-open allowing gas to escape if the gas line is tilted during a seismic event!

The California Valve's bright red dome makes it easy to spot during emergency situations, and has the largest sight glass to show if the valve is triggered or not.
